    Description

    Up for auction is this truly stunning gold specimen from the Mother Lode area of Mariposa Co , California. Home to some of my favorite gold known for its purity and naked brilliance. This particular specimen has a lot going for it. Some very interesting characteristics. For starters it really makes the most for its weight (4.6 grams ) appearing very big for its weight at 2.5 centimeters long and 1.5 centimeters wide. This is made possible because it’s very flat at .4 of a centimeter. It’s weight comprised almost solely w gold w just enough Snow White quartz to highlight how truly special this one is whilst making minimal affects on its overall weight. Quartz is very light and especially compared to gold. I can only guess what percentage of the 4.6 grams is quartz but it’s a minuscule percentage compared to the whole. Also present on the the face are what’s known among geologists as “slick lines”. A very rare occurrence on gold nugget specimens. This happened because this particular specimen was on a fault line and as the two seperate land plates moved against each other, the slick lines were created in its wake. Talk about having us a winner here. It looks even more beautiful in person and is an awesome conversation piece. I wish I could go back in time and snap photos of every single person’s reaction when I randomly pulled this out of my pocket and set it in front of them.(always keep handling to a minimum and make sure friends know how malleable gold of this purity can be… And DONT let people bite it. You’d be surprised lol) Good times. Finally it’s small enough that you won’t have to refi the house even if it does end up commanding a big premium. I really hope that whoever wins this gets the same satisfaction that I’ve had being it’s owner the past few years. It’s actual gold content value is going to be somewhere in the neighborhood of 0. So we’ll call that the starting point … And NO RESERVE on this one! May he/she w the most gold fever win!
