    Description

Up for auction is an antique late 19th century architectural weathervane directional cap finial remnant recently found at auction in the Lancaster County PA area.  It is offered in as found used condition for parts.  Missing N S only has E no W attached, breaks.  Base cap octagonal, ~ 4 3/8",  solid metal, attracts a magnet, old paint with losses and rust and 2 screw holes with metal ball, would have been the final finial on a roof spire.  Turquoise blue and white, top piece square tuned to side with triangles is wood.  Shaft is metal and takes a magnet. Probably originally had a weather vane.  Fragile with many losses.
    Best of luck in bidding.
