Each razor has its own serial number which is laser etched on the underside of the baseplate. Additionally, each razor is date coded, Rex has adopted the old Gillette dating system (2018 = N, 2019 = O, 2020 = P and R = 2021).
The marine-grade steel used on the Ambassador is so advanced, it requires specialized machining. Rex finishes the razor off with a brushed finish.
The Ambassador has a very low profile head compared to old Gillette adjustable razors such as the Slim and Fatboy and the present day Merkur Progress and Parker Variant. This is a real benefit as shaving under the nose and sideburns is so much easier with an Ambassador compared to its rivals.
