USR UNITED SAFETY RAZOR SET Cased ORIGINAL VINTAGE BLADES & WRAPPERS Pocket Set

Up for sale today is a scarce vintage United Safety Razor set. Early 1900s, though I can't pinpoint the exact year. I believe this is the cased Pocket Set. The razor screws nicely onto the handle and still telescopes. Both metal storage cases are stamped "USR." Each holds 5 blades. Ten vintage paperboard sleeves; official with USR graphics and most with the USR red seals (no longer sealed). One is empty (the blade is in the razor) and one looks to be generic; the other 9 blades are
official
and stamped with "USR" and "UNITED SAFETY RAZOR." All metal shows varying degrees of corrosion, with a few blades somewhat rusty. The telescoping feature, for instance, needs lubrication; it works, but
probably
not as smoothly as it should. The case is complete with signs of moderate wear to the green velvet lining (unattached to the case, though it all fits quite snugly). The snap tab is missing. A bit of scuffing to the bottom of the case.
