Vintage 1955 Gillette Diplomat Safety Razor Set

Description

Mechanically, the razor functions fine, it opens/closes smoothly and evenly.  Cosmetically, there are no major scratches but a lot of smaller ones on the top of the head and inside where the blade sits.  I can't seem to get those in pics very well.  I don't think they look too bad when holding it in normal room lighting but you can see them angled, close up in light. The plating overall looks really good though and mostly intact.  It looks to have had some use but not over used.  It's been cleaned/sanitized.
The case functions fine open/close and the spring still works.  One spot/blemish on the outside cover on top, right corner you can see in pics and small one on the bottom but the rest is is in great shape top and bottom.  You can see some spots/plating wear on the inside rim but it's mostly intact overall.  Some staining spotting on the inside bottom where the razor and blades sit... you can see.  It comes with the same type of blades that were sold at this time similar to what came with the set but I don't know if original.
